Here I do another battle with Red, this time just for kicks. I’m going to battle with a team with pokemon 30-40 levels lower. I have none of my regular team here to back this team up. I only have one HM slave to use to give me a free turn if I need it. Time for some defensive cleverness. Leftovers help with recovery. The big thing I use here is big time type resistances. No toxic, destiny bond, curse, or perish song was used for this battle. Any of those would make things a bit easier if used. The full restores (total of 4) can be really annoying, which is why I need high defenses to take hits. Pretty much I’m gonna need to get Red to use them all up. For pikachu, steelix works wonders with high physical defense and resistance to electric. The only thing to watch for is iron tail lowering defense. Sandstorm gets rid of the hail so that blizzard can now miss. Stealth rock would be useful for later pokemon, but I don’t get a chance to use it here. EQ almost KO’d pikachu in one hit. Didn’t expect the switch there. I should have used stealth rock to set up. For Charizard, Heatran works well here. Flash fire blocks fire attacks. Dragon pulse is no concern. Air slash can be annoying if it flinches. AncientPower works well here, especially if I get stat boosts. If you have stealth rock in place, it takes off half its HP. Luckily the AI uses fire moves here, which gives me a free turn. Full restore #1 used here. Blastoise usually comes out next. Bring on tentacruel with clear …
